I've been into making my own envelopes lately. Sounds a little lame, but it's really easy and so much fun to do. I've been a little restless these past weeks, and making things (whilst watching tv, preferably) soothes the soul. Am feeling better now, moreover because there's a pile of envelopes staring at me, yelling "you gave me life! with your bare hands!", which is pleasing. You can find the template here (of course there are many others to be found). I found it thanks to this blog. I used illustrations from Folia (weekly newspaper - doctor illustration by Marc Kolle) and Flow magazine.
(!) Note that this is a "green" project, since you can use any paper you can find. From newspaper articles to empty cartons.
